Haitong International Securities Group has appointed veteran banker and deal maker David Ng as the vice chairman of its investment banking division.
Ng, who brings 25 years of experience within the financial industry, was most recently the managing director for Asia investment banking at Nomura International, a role in which he was responsible for corporate financing and capital market transaction deals in Asia. He has been involved in equity, debt and structured financing and cross-border merger-and-acquisition deals with a transaction value exceeding $70 billion, the Chinese securities firm said. The appointment took effect on Wednesday.
In his new role, Ng will be responsible for strengthening Haitong’s investment banking client coverage and institutional business development and facilitating the investment banking division’s collaboration with other business units in the company.
Haitong has been busy this year amid a slew of initial public offerings in Hong Kong, and has completed 28 IPO deals in the city as of August 31. It was the sponsor in five of those transactions.
