UBS Warburg has appointed Tee Wee Lim as its Singapore technology analyst in an attempt to bolster its technology research capability. Based in Singapore, Lim will report to Min Lan Tan, the head of Singapore research.
Most recently, Lim worked for ING in Singapore as the regional technology analyst covering electronics companies in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Before joining ING in October 2000, Lim covered technology stocks for DBS Securities in Singapore.
Prior to making his foray into the world of investment banking, Lim worked as an engineer in the storage and semiconductor industry, including stints at StorMedia International and Silicon Manufacturing Partners, a subsidiary of Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing. Lim's appointment with UBS Warburg comes into effect on October 7.
Meanwhile, UBS Warburg has also made a hire in Korea. Hyunhee Chang joined the firm's domestic equities sales team in Korea earlier this week. Chang will report to Yongmin Won, the head of domestic equity sales.
Chang joins from Samsung Investment Trust Management, where she devoted six years to sales and marketing activities and new business development. Most recently, she had responsibility for client services for offshore, overseas investment and advisory funds.
