Bangladesh government u-turns on amnesty for whitening black money

As they approved the Budget, cabinet members of the interim government scrapped the revenue raising provision on June 22 amid strong criticism.

Professor Muhammad Yunus, chief adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government, visited London, during the second week of June, to discuss the recovery of millions of dollars that had been looted by the aides of ousted Premier Sheikh Hasina and unscrupulous businesses.
