Bangladesh hikes fuel prices as economic concerns mount

The country is facing a myriad of difficulties as the war in the Middle East remains unresolved, with the IMF watching closely.

Under its remit, the government of Bangladesh has recently increased fuel prices by around 15% in the domestic market to offset the subsidy pressure amid a severe price hike of petroleum products in the international market due to the long-lasting conflict in the Middle East that has seriously disrupted the supply of oil.
