The new head of ABN AMRO's cash management sales and services for North Asia, Anthony Solimini, is revving up to advise the bank's multinational clients on establishing regional treasury centres and shared services centres in the region.
Since joining ABN AMRO in July from his post as head of product management at HSBC, Hong Kong-based Solimini has been building a team and setting up systems to cater to clients' needs. He is responsible for overseeing and further developing the bank's corporate cash management client relationships with a particular emphasis on multinationals.
"We are very focused on regional mandates for regional clients," he says. "We have a list of 10,000 global companies that we service and about a third of these have operations in Asia. I will be focusing on setting up regional treasury centres and shared services centres for these clients."
He says ABN AMRO will leave small and medium domestic clients to other cash banks with strong local networks.
Solimini is reporting to ABN AMRO's head of corporate cash management sales, Leonard Stolk, in Singapore. Prior to joining ABN AMRO and working for HSBC, Solimini was head of sales for Thailand and emerging markets for Standard Chartered.
