Deutsche Bank has brought in Ashok Pandit to the Hong Kong offices in the newly created role of managing director of equity capital markets (ECM) in Asia. Effective immediately, Pandit will take on responsibility for origination and execution of equity and equity-linked transactions around the region.
He crosses to Deutsche from ABN AMRO Rothschild's ECM business where he held the title of managing director and head of South Asia. Prior to his 1998 arrival at ABN, Pandit spent two years at ANZ Grindlays, India, where in the project finance group he advised domestic and cross-border transactions. Pandit's career has also taken him to the Kotak Mahindra Capital Company and Credit Rating and Information Services of India.
"Ashok is a seasoned investment banker with a strong 13-year track record and extensive experience in originating and executing equity deals in Asia," says his new boss, Rowena Chu, Deutsche Bank's head of ECM, Asia. "His appointment adds further strength to our successful ECM franchise and reinforces our commitment to bringing innovative, tailor-made financial solutions to clients."
