Standard Chartered awards an ATM mandate to Wincor Nixdorf, while Fundtech and VocaLink form a partnership to launch a new payments service.

Wincor Nixdorf wins transaction mandate from Standard Chartered

Standard Chartered has appointed Wincor Nixdorf to provide transaction banking services at offsite locations and branches in Hong Kong. The Germany-based information technology solutions and services provider has deployed 240 automated teller machines (ATMs) and 95 cash deposit systems throughout Hong Kong.

“ATMs are an important service channel for our customers,” said Patrick Lu, general manager of remote channels for consumer banking at Standard Chartered Hong Kong. “High system availability is critical to ensure we maintain satisfactory customer levels.”

Fundtech partners with VocaLink

International payments provider VocaLink has partnered with global transaction banking solutions provider, Fundtech, to offer a payments service called Immediate Payments. The partnership will allow banks to provide their customers with an end-to-end, inter-bank, real-time payments service that can deliver greater convenience and control. Both firms have identified Asia-Pacific as the core growth focus for Immediate Payments.

“Providing the technology to banks that enable them to better serve their customers with Immediate Payments is an important part of our product strategy, especially for the Asia-Pacific region,” said Gil Gadot, executive vice-president, chief technology officer and managing director for Asia-Pacific at Fundtech. “Partnering with VocaLink ensures that we are able to deliver a complete, high end, reliable service to the market and we look forward to working with VocaLink in markets outside of the UK to develop this innovative new payments capability.”

AsiaPay works with Jollibee to launch online payment service

Philippines-based Jollibee Foods Corporation (Jollibee) has launched an online payment service with Hong Kong-headquartered electronic payment solution and technology provider, AsiaPay.

“Our mission to provide secured and advanced online payment technologies to the market has been achieved with the successful launching of Jollibee’s online payment service for its online delivery website,” said Joseph Chan, chief executive of AsiaPay. “Enabling Jollibee customers to make payments online, completes the whole electronic ordering cycle while adding value by providing security and ease of use.”
