JF survey shows Hong Kong investors stay cautious

The JF Investor Confidence Index shows Hong Kong investors are generally optimistic about stock market and economic prospects, but are nevertheless hesitant to top up their existing investments.
The JF Investor Confidence Index in Hong Kong, designed to measure the outlook of retail investors in the local market over the next six months, has stabilised following a sharp drop in the previous quarter.

The index, which is derived from the results of a quarterly JF Asset Management survey conducted by independent market research company Cimigo, recorded a score of 119, slightly higher than the 117 recorded in the first quarter of 2008, but still much lower than 130 in the fourth quarter of 2007. JF Asset Management considers an index level of 100 as neutral and anything above that is regarded as positive.
