Jim Perry joins Citi's TMT team

Jim Perry moves from the US to help fill out Citi's technology, media and telecommunications team.

In its third announcement this week on hiring or relocating people to Asia, Citi said yesterday that Jim Perry will be joining its technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) global banking team as a managing director. He will have coverage responsibility for large-cap technology and clean technology companies in Asia-Pacific and will be based in Hong Kong.

Earlier this month, we reported that Citi had promoted Rahul Shukla to head of corporate banking in India. Nikhil Eapen, who had worked with him, took on Shukla's previous role as Asia-Pacific head of TMT within the global banking division. Perry will now join that same team to build out the bench. He'll report to Eapen.

Perry joined Citi in January 1997 in New York as a financial analyst in investment banking, and has since spent nine years in the mergers and acquisitions group in Palo Alto focusing on the technology sector. He has also spent a significant amount of time with semiconductor companies in the Asia-Pacific region and has executed a large number of cross-border M&A transactions.

On Wednesday, Citi announced that it had appointed Matthew Mrozinski as head of real estate banking for Asia. And, on Monday, the firm said that Chris Laskowski had returned to Asia as head of the financial entrepreneurs group in the region and chief operating officer (COO) for global banking Asia-Pacific.
