Newbridge hires Schneider

Private equity firm scoops 20-year GE veteran.

Newbridge Capital has announced the signing of Steven Schneider as a parnter in its Hong Kong offices. He will lead the Asian activities of its operations group -helping portfolio companies achieve strategic goals and overall operational excellence.

Upon joining Newbridge Capital, Schneider will also join its parent company, Texas Pacific Group (TPG) as a partner. Schneider comes to Newbridge after a 20-year career at General Electric, where he most recently served as president and CEO of GE Asia Pacific and was a member of its corporate executive committee.

His tenure at the world's largest conglomerate has included 13 years in Asia covering postings in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai. During his time in Asia, Schneider has also served the company as chairman and CEO of GE-China, president and CEO of GE Plastics-Greater China, director of marketing operations for GE Plastic- Asia Pacific and general manager, marketing operations for GE Plastics Japan.

"Successful private equity investing depends much more on access to management talent than capital, particularly in Asia," says Dan Carroll, Newbridge's managing partner. "We expect him to play a key role in further differentiating Newbridge as a private equity firm capable of building great, Asia-backed businesses in addition to structuring great investments."

Presently, TPG and Newbridge Capital portfolio employee over 68,900 people and in Asia record revenues in excess of $10 billion.
