Amita Jhangiani has joined Citigroup's corporate and investing banking team, in a move it hopes will bolster its trade capabilities. Effective January, she takes on the role of managing director, global transaction services (GTS) Asia-Pacific trade head.
She will report to Shayne Elliot, Asia-Pacific regional head of GTS and Claudia Slacik, global trade head. In her new position, Jhangiani takes on responsibility for the bank's trade product across the region, including Japan, across both corporate and financial institutional clients.
She crosses to Citi GTS from Deutsche Bank, where she was most recently managing director and global trade finance head for the Asia Pacific region. She had primarily been responsible for managing sales, product management, distribution and operations of all Deutsche's trade products across Asia-Pacific.
In total, she brings over 20 years of related experience to Citigroup GTS and has also worked for Chase Manhattan Bank.
