David Bee is the latest addition to the Standard Chartered FX team. He has joined the bank's operations as the head of FX trading for London and the global head of G10 spot and forward FX trading. Bee will report to Nick Beecroft, global head of FX trading and will be based in London.
In the new Standard Chartered position, Bee will assume responsibility for the risk management of G10 trades and will work closely with its FX trading desk in Hong Kong and New York. Late last month, Standard Chartered bolstered its FX team in Singapore by appointing Will Shropshire as head of FX options trading in Asia.
Like Shropshire, Standard Chartered poached Bee from Deutsche Bank's FX team. At Deutsche, Bee was COO to the global head of FX sales after joining from a 19 spell at Citibank. He held several senior positions at Citi including regional head of FX sales for Asia/Pacific, head of FX trading and sales in Tokyo and within the private banking arm, he was global head, capital markets.
According to Standard Chartered's Beecroft, Bee's arrival completes the global FX trading management team. "Foreign exchange is a core product for the bank and Bee's arrival puts the finishing touch to the team, whose aim is to make us number one in the FX services to clients in Asian, African and Middle Eastern currencies."
