Regional Development Bank selects banking solution from Polaris
Sri Lanka’s Regional Development Bank (RDB) has implemented a banking solution from Polaris Financial Technology. The solution, Intellect Core Banking Solution, will provide clients of the country’s largest development bank with better banking facilities, according to Polaris.
“There was an acute need to provide a better banking service to meet the challenges of our customers in a fast changing and rapidly progressing economy,” said Rathnasiri Siriwardena, chief executive and general manager of RDB. “The bank’s role is to be a catalyst in the development programme, particularly in the rural economy by providing most appropriate solutions to priority sectors.”
RDB has the third largest branch network with 253 branches in Sri Lanka and aims to provide innovative but simple financial services to members at the middle and bottom of the income pyramid in the country.
BPC wins mandate from Golomt Bank
Open system e-payment solutions provider, BPC Banking Technologies (BPC) has been selected by Mongolia’s Golomt Bank to supply a new automated teller machine (ATM) network management solution. The solution, SmartATM, allows Golomt Bank to improve its ability to service and monitor its terminal networks according to BPC.
“As the pioneer of introducing MasterCard card and Visa card services in Mongolia, Golomt Bank has a strong focus on innovation in banking services and client satisfaction,” said Zorig Khaidar, director of the card management centre at Golomt Bank. “SmartATM brings a wealth of features and functions to deliver new services to our clients as well as providing us with a very effective platform to manage the network’s operation.”
First Data introduces new online payment gateway
Electronic commerce and payment processing company, First Data Corporation, has launched a new online payment gateway called Global Gateway e4. The gateway offers a safe and reliable solution for cardless transactions and includes payment services to expand payment acceptance around the globe for merchants.
“This new gateway is a continuation of our strategy to provide merchants with an expanding set of online payments capabilities including multicurrency processing, virtual gift cards, integrated fraud tools and flexible recurring billing services,” said Phil Levy, vice-president of eCommerce at First Data. “With Global Gateway e4, merchants have everything they need to easily add new payment types to their website as they expand into new markets around the world.”
