Credit Suisse names Philippines country manager

Michael De Guzman is now country manager for the Philippines as well as the Swiss bank's as head of Philippines coverage for investment banking and capital markets.

Credit Suisse on Monday named Michael De Guzman as its country manager for the Philippines.

The role comes is in addition to De Guzman’s existing post as head of Philippines coverage for investment banking and capital markets.

Before joining Credit Suisse, De Guzman was the Philippines office head for Macquarie Group and head of Macquarie Capital Philippines for eight years.

In his new role, De Guzman will report to Francesco de Ferrari in his capacity as CEO Southeast Asia and frontier markets. 


In addition, Credit Suisse has appointed Christian Senn as market group head Philippines for private banking Asia Pacific, based in Singapore and reporting to Benjamin Cavalli, head of private banking Southeast Asia.

A 30-year veteran of Credit Suisse’s private banking business across Switzerland, United States, Latin America and Asia, Senn was previously the market group head in Thailand. There, he was responsible for the further development and growth of the private banking business in the Thai market, including the launch of its Thailand domestic wealth management franchise in 2016.

Credit Suisse has advised on various transactions in the Philippines, including the Republic of the Philippines' accelerated switch tender offer and $2 billion notes offering and a $1.2 billion rights issue for BDO Unibank.
