Citi wins Hong Kong Hospital Authority mandate

The bank will handle bill payment collections via 7-Eleven stores and Jetco ATMs.
Citi has won a new mandate as the bill payments collection bank for the Hong Kong Hospital Authority.

Starting September, hospital authority patients will be able to pay their bills through new outlets throughout the city. Patients will be able to settle their payments by presenting their bills with barcodes at more than 800 7-Eleven stores and 1,000 Jetco automatic teller machines with the ôJet paymentö sign.

KH Lee, chief manager of financial planning at the hospital authority, says Citi won the mandate following a tendering process.

Citi has been a pioneer in the use convenience stores for bill collections. It introduced the first such scheme in Hong Kong in 2002.
