Citi's Rahul Shukla takes over as head of telecommunications, media and technology for the Asia-Pacific region.
Citi has promoted Rahul Shukla to head of telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) for the Asia-Pacific region, based in Hong Kong.

"Rahul has strong client relationships around the region and has been involved in several groundbreaking transactions from the TMT sector in recent years. We look forward to Rahul playing a leading role in growing and further developing our TMT business in Asia," says Mark Renton, head of Asia-Pacific investment banking for Citi.

Shukla joined Citi's technology group in 2000. Before then he was a member of the Southeast Asian investment bank team covering Indian companies. He was appointed a managing director in 2006 and will report to Mark Renton, head of investment banking Asia-Pacific and Dan McNamara, co-head of investment banking Asia-Pacific for Citi, together with Mark Simonian and Chris Varelas, global co-heads of TMT. Shukla joined Citi as a management associate in 1991.

Shukla takes over as head of Asia-Pacific TMT from Simon Parker, who will be moving to Citi's global special solutions group to head up a new initiative in private equity, based in Hong Kong.
