China Railway Group priced Asia's largest construction ECM deal in 2015.

 

 

Equity Capital Markets

Asian issuers have raised $4.2 billion in the equity capital markets this week through 38 deals, up on the $3.3 billion via 31 deals reached last week.

The largest deal of the week is China Railway Group’s $2.0 billion follow-on offering through bookrunners Bank of China, UBS and Morgan Stanley. This deal is largest Asia (ex Japan) ECM deal in the Construction sector this year and has pushed the region’s total construction ECM volume to a record high of $7.0 billion in 2015 YTD, up 42% year-on-year.

UBS continues to lead the league table ranking with $13.3 billion in 2015 YTD, followed by Goldman Sachs with $12.6 billion while CITIC Securities rounds off the top three with $12.5 billion.

Debt Capital Markets

Seven issuers have tapped the G3 debt capital markets this week for a total of $2.7 billion, up on the $764 million raised through two deals last week.

The largest deal of the week is a $800 million bond for Zhaohai Investment (BVI) Ltd through bookrunners Standard Chartered Bank, ICBC, HSBC, CCB, DBS, China Merchants Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank and Bank of China.

Asia (ex Japan) G3 DCM has reached $129.2 billion in 2015 YTD, up on $124.8 billion from the same period last year and the highest YTD level on record.

HSBC continues to top the league table rankings with $14.4 billion in 2015 YTD while Citi and JPMorgan follow with $12.0 billion and $8.8 billion, respectively.
