Nomura appoints Asia ex-Japan M&A head

Japanese bank names Hajime Higuchi as head of M&A for Asia ex-Japan, replacing Nikhil Nath, who left in March.

Nomura has appointed Hajime Higuchi as its new head of M&A for Asia ex-Japan, according to an internal announcement today. A Nomura spokesman confirmed the contents.

Higuchi, who has worked at the firm for a decade, will transfer from London to Hong Kong in December. Prior to assuming his latest role, he was co-head of M&A for Europe, the Middle East and Africa since June 2011.

Before this, Higuchi was head of Japan M&A for consumer and healthcare, and before that, he was  head of Japan M&A for automotive, industrials, natural resources and power.  Higuchi has more than  20 years of banking experience and has advised on many M&A deals in Europe, Asia and the Americas. He replaces Nikhil Nath, who left Nomura in March this year.
