Credit Agricole Suisse has appointed Serge Janowski as chief executive of its Hong Kong branch.

Like so many other firms, the bank plans to expand its private client and wealth management portfolios in Asia-Pacific, where there is growth in the high-net-worth client sector.

He will report to Georges Zecchin, who was appointed chief executive of Credit Agricole Suisse in Asia last June.

“The arrival of Mr Janowski will undoubtedly help us grow our presence in the region as one of the world’s leading private banks,” said Zecchin.

Janowski has 20 years of experience, having worked in Asia, Europe, the Americas and the Middle East. Before joining Credit Agricole Suisse he was CEO of wealth management in Hong Kong and North Asia at BNP Paribas.

Credit Agricole Suisse’s pace of expansion has been gaining momentum since it was granted a full banking licence by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority this March. This was followed by the opening of a booking centre in Hong Kong, providing clients with another point of access to the bank’s wide range of wealth management services in addition to the centres in Singapore and Geneva.
