Mandates and payments roundup, April 19

SBI Holdings appoints J.P. Morgan as its HDR depositary bank, while Logica and TNS enhance their payment solutions.

J.P. Morgan appointed depositary bank by SBI Holdings

SBI Holdings, the Japanese internet-based financial services and investment company, has appointed J.P. Morgan as its depositary bank for its Hong Kong depositary receipt (HDR) programme.

“An HDR listing is certainly an important consideration both for global companies looking to deepen their presence in Asia and Asia-based names wanting to broaden their operations across the region,” said Kenneth Tse, Asia-Pacific head of J.P. Morgan’s depositary receipts group, in a statement. “Hong Kong is perfectly placed alongside China’s dynamic economy, and as such represents a logical platform for companies seeking to tap into the Greater Chinese growth story.”

J.P. Morgan previously acted as the depositary bank in Hong Kong for Brazilian mining company Vale SA in December last year.

Logica to offer new mandate management solution

Global business and technology services company, Logica, has launched a new mandate management product designed for corporations. According to the company, the solution, Logica Mandate Management, can help companies improve cashflow, standardise collections, reduce costs and comply with new regulatory requirements.

Garry Young, director of corporate services for Logica’s global products business, says that the new solution “will help corporates better control their cashflow and boost payment efficiencies through greater centralisation”.

TNS expands payment capabilities

Transaction Network Services (TNS), the global provider of data communications and interoperability solutions, has enhanced its TNSPay payment management platform for ecommerce merchants by adding features to improve security, combat fraud and comply with PCI security standards.

“The continued development of the TNSPay platform is a key priority for TNS,” said Ray Low, president of the payments division at TNS, in a statement. “We have deployed physical instances of the TNSPay platform in the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific region in order to support the continued growth of the service.”

TNSPay processes more than 250 million transactions per year for more than 30,000 merchants globally. TNS connects more than a million merchants and retailers to banks, acquirers and processors for payment processing.
