Goldman Sachs adds to its capital markets team

Goldman Sachs relocates Dominique Jooris to Hong Kong from London to take on a newly created role as head of the investment grade capital markets business in Asia.

Goldman Sachs has appointed Dominique Jooris as head of the investment grade capital markets business in Asia, which is a newly created position. This is an internal move and Jooris will relocate from London to Hong Kong at the end of the month.

He will report to Dan Dees, head of the Asia financing group.

According to an internal memo seen by FinanceAsia, Jooris will be responsible for covering many of the firm's largest and most important financial institution, corporate and sovereign clients in the region, focusing on their funding needs and associated derivative/hedging activities.

Adding Jooris signals that Goldman Sachs is continuing to build its credit business at a time when its clients are increasingly looking to the global credit markets to fund their businesses.

Prior to this impending move, Jooris led the European financial institutions group's debt capital markets effort with responsibility for hybrid capital products. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2005 as head of hybrid capital products for Europe and became a managing director in 2007. He was with Lehman Brothers before joining Goldman Sachs.
