Societe Generale (SG) last week announced the launch of a global capital markets platform for the Asia-Pacific region. It will provide integrated debt and equity solutions to issuers looking to access public primary euro markets. The Asia team will be an addition to the existing network in Europe, the US and the Middle East.
The Asian operations will be run in Hong Kong by Yves Jacob. He shall report to Ashley Wilkins, head of capital raising and financing for Asia-Pacific, and Paris-based Jean-Marc Giraud, global head of global capital markets.
Before relocating to Hong Kong, Jacob was director of the French corporate origination team in Paris. He has worked on a number of benchmark Eurobond and US private placement issues for corporate borrowers. He joined SG in 2000 as part of the bank's media and telecoms finance group. Prior to working at SG, he worked at BNP Paribas, where he was engaged in leveraged finance. Jacob holds a MBA from Essec.
