Set against the backdrop of the Sydney Opera House, FinanceAsia held its first Annual Awards Dinner in Australia this week, attracting 150 issuers and dealmakers from around the country. The event at the Park Hyatt in Sydney was held to congratulate winners of last year's Achievement Awards and to celebrate the Australian propensity for capital markets innovation.
In attendance were company executives representing several successful issuers including Promina, Qantas, Transurban, Mirvac, Snowy Hydro, Westlink and Alinta. A special birthday wish was sent out to the chief financial officer of Promina, Harold Bentley.
Goldman Sachs JBWere picked up a box of Montecristo cigars as the winners of the night's trivia quiz, with Caliburn Partnership coming in a close second and taking home a box of Broke's Promise wine. Guests also received restaurant and hotel vouchers, red roses and BridgeClimb tickets in the door prize draw.
