Nomura expands principal finance business to non-Japan Asia

Yoshiki Hashimoto will lead a new Asia merchant banking department that will seek out investment opportunities in the region.
Nomura Holdings is expanding its principal finance business into non-Japan Asia through the establishment of an Asia merchant banking department. Yoshiki Hashimoto will take on a new position as head of Asia merchant banking and will lead the new department from Hong Kong.

Hashimoto was previously head of Europe merchant banking at the Japanese bank.

In his new role, Hashimoto will head up a group of investment professionals, responsible for seeking investment opportunities and making investment decisions in Asian markets. He will report to Akira Maruyama, chief executive officer of global merchant banking, as well as to Yoshinori Go, chief operating officer of Nomura Asia Holding N.V.
