Deutsche Bank appoints Sri Lanka country chief

The German bank appoints Stefan Mahrdt.

Stefan Mahrdt has been appointed as chief country officer and head of global banking for Deutsche Bank in Sri Lanka following the departure of Kimarli Fernando, the ex-head of global banking. Meanwhile, Rohan Rodrigo, who was previously the chief country officer, will take over the role as head of global markets in Sri Lanka.

Mahrdt was previously based in Sri Lanka from July 1993 to March 1997.

Kenneth C Borda, chief executive office for Deutsche Bank Asia Pacific (ex-Japan) comments: "As we head towards a new period of stability in the country [Sri Lanka] I am delighted to welcome back Stefan Mahrdt to oversee an expected period of growth for our business."
