Credit Suisse builds investment banking team

The firm adds two senior investment bankers to its Greater China business.
Credit Suisse has announced that David Cheng has joined the bank as managing director and head of corporate finance, Greater China. In addition, Quincy Hui joined as managing director for Hong Kong coverage. Both new hires are based in Hong Kong for the investment banking department.

Cheng will oversee the corporate finance team for Credit Suisse's Greater China business. He will report to Paul Raphael, head of investment banking for Asia-Pacific (ex-Japan).

Hui will play a key role in developing relationships and originating and executing transactions for the bank's Hong Kong based clients. Hui will report to Chester Kwok, head of Hong Kong coverage and co-head of real estate investment banking.

Cheng joins Credit Suisse from Bear Stearns, where he was senior managing director and head of corporate finance in Asia in 2005. Prior to that, he was managing director and head of investment banking at Citic Capital and Bank of China International.

Hui joins Credit Suisse from Deutsche Bank, where he was managing director and head of Hong Kong investment banking.

"David and Quincy's expertise and track record strengthen Credit Suisse's investment banking franchise in Asia," says Raphael. "Their hiring underlines our commitment to deepening our talent pool irrespective of market cycles."
