Credit Suisse banker joins Julius Baer

Rick Chan will advise clients of the wealth manager as managing director senior advisor.
Julius Baer, a Suisse wealth manager, has appointed Rick Chan as managing director senior advisor. Chan joins the firm from Credit Suisse private banking, where he worked for nearly five years as a senior client banker.

Chan will provide advice to clients in Hong Kong, and also become a member of the firmÆs Asian management committee. He will be based in the Hong Kong office and report directly to Andrea Benenati, the firmÆs chief executive officer in North Asia.

ôRick Chan brings over 22 years of wealth management and securities experience to Julius Baer. He will substantially contribute to our growth among sophisticated Hong Kong investors and is well known among this groupö, says Benenati, in a written statement.

Before working for Credit Suisse, Chan held senior positions at Kim Eng Securities and HSBC Securities.

The Julius Baer Group manages more than CHF400 billion ($329 billion) worth of assets, as at the end of June 2007. The shares of Julius Baer Holding are trading on the SWX Swiss Exchange with a market capitalisation of about CHF20 billion.
