David Dean, a former 1970's star of the Northern club circuit in the UK, is helping to organise a charity concert at Hong Kong's City Hall, this Sunday January 11. Proceeds will fund the Parents' Association of Pre-school Handicapped Children, a non profit organisation that advocates better services for the disabled and helps families of new born disabled children.
The concert will start at 7.30pm and feature Brahms Tragic Overture, Brahms Schicksalslied and Rachmaninoff's Piano Concert No 2. Dean is acting as understudy to Warren Lee, a child prodigy who is now regarded as one of Hong Kong's foremost classical pianists.
Backing him will be the Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra, HKIS Madrigal Singers, HKU University Choir and the Hong Kong voices. The conductor will be Ken Lam.
Those interested to attend should contact Dean at either: (852) 25361510 or [email protected].
