- All Nippon Airways ANA and Japan Airlines JAL announced their shift to IP telephone systems, a move aimed at cutting costs and improving efficiency. ANA said it will adopt IP technology at certain domestic call centres, while JAL said it has already made the switch to an IP phone system at its maintenance facilities at Haneda airport, with the plan to evaluate the system before going into expansion.
