- Ikyu Corp, a provider of niche-type internet services, announced its plans to go public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange's Mother's market for start-up companies. The firm, which operates a hotel reservation web site specializing in luxury accommodations, has contracts with some 700 facilities as of the end of March 2005 and receives 7-8 percent of the accommodation charge as a commission. Ikyu expects to post 1 billion yen $8.8 million in parent-only pretax profit for the year through March 2006, a 51 percent increase on sales of 1.7 billion yen $15.1 million.
