FinanceAsia 2002 Awards Dinner Photos

FinanceAsia''s annual gala awards dinner on Friday was the most successful ever. A total of 450 guests attended, up from 380 last year.

Capital markets person of the year was awarded on the night to Ralph Marshall, the man behind Usaha Tegas, which launched the highly successful IPO for its mobile phone subsidiary, Maxis last year.

Other distinguished guests included the head of Bank of China (HK), Liu Jin-Bao, who was at the event to pick up the award for the deal of the year.

Breaking up the evening was a brief bout of music from Australian operatic maestro, Tom Griffiths, a member of the Three Waiters group. He sang arias and serenaded guests including Citigroup's Penny Shone.

As ever there was a charitable element, with our annual tombstone auction and raffle raising funds for Operation Smile, a charity which specialises in corrective surgery for children, and which has become very active in China.
