Citi opens another smart banking branch in China

Citibank (China) has opened a new smart banking outlet in China. Located in Wuxi, the new branch is a full service outlet providing banking services to both institutional clients and retail customers.

“We are excited to be bringing smart banking to the residents of Wuxi,” said Simon Chow, country business manager at Citibank China. “This outlet gives Wuxi customers a new and superior style of retail banking, and we look forward to serving our customers here with the best available banking and wealth management services.”

Like other branches Citi has opened in China this year, the new Wuxi branch offers Citi Explore, Connect and Assist services in addition to Citibank and Citigold services. It also offers complementary use of mobile phones and access to internet kiosks.

BNY Mellon launches new liquidity application

The Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon) has launched a new mobile application for the iPhone that allows its Asian institutional clients to access cash management, account information reporting and transactional features of its Liquidity Direct portal.

“This new app continues a tradition of client-focused technological innovation that dates back to the debut of Liquidity Direct as one of the first and most robust liquidity management portals,” said Filippo Santilli, managing director of BNY Mellon’s liquidity services business in Asia. “Making investment information available at the touch of a finger and giving clients the ability to conduct transactions whenever and wherever they choose, our new app underscores our commitment to outstanding execution in support of our clients’ investment process.”

The new application allows users to invest, transfer and redeem cash in multiple currencies on the move via their iPhone. BNY Mellon is scheduled to launch an application to access its Liquidity Direct portal for android smartphone users later this year.
