Standard Chartered Bank has made several changes to the senior management of its transaction banking business. Neil Daswani, regional head of transaction banking for North Asia, is now global head of the strategic client coverage group (SCCG). In his new role, Daswani is responsible for accelerating the growth of Standard Chartered’s SCCG portfolio which includes both corporate and financial institution clients.

Daswani has worked at Standard Chartered for more than 20 years in various senior transaction banking and client coverage positions in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. He is based in Singapore in his new role, but will also continue overseeing the responsibilities as regional head of transaction banking for North Asia until the bank finds a suitable replacement. He reports to Jiten Arora, global head of sales for transaction banking at Standard Chartered.

Sumit Aggarwal, Standard Chartered’s transaction banking country head for Singapore, has been appointed regional head of Southeast Asia. In this new role, which will see him continue to be based in Singapore, Aggarwal oversees the sales teams in the region and is responsible for supporting the bank’s clients who are looking to leverage the growth in intra-regional trade.

In addition, Dinesh Khanna has been appointed regional head of South Asia and is based in Mumbai. He is responsible for helping grow the bank’s franchise in India and the sub-continent. Both Aggarwal and Khanna also report to Arora.

“I am confident that with such a highly experienced team in place, Standard Chartered will continue to drive strong growth of our transaction banking business,” said Arora. “This is an extremely high-calibre team, their collective banking experience across the world’s fastest growing markets spans over 68 years and will play a huge role in deepening our offerings for clients across all key segments.”
