Treasury appointments, September 7

A roundup of the latest CFO and treasurer moves from around the region.

Cacola Furniture International: Chan Sui Wa was appointed financial controller of the Singapore-based designer, manufacturer and distributor of modern furniture on September 1. He has more than 10 years of accounting and auditing experience and is responsible for the finance and accounting functions as well as the statutory compliance of the company.

China Interactive Education: The China-based education solutions provider appointed Chan Hon Wan CFO on September 1. He replaces Cheung Ting Pong who resigned a day earlier. Chan has more than 25 years of experience in overseeing accounting and finance matters for emerging market and public companies. He holds a bachelors degree in economics from Macquarie University in Australia and a masters degree in accounting from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is also an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and an associate member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Hiap Tong Corporation: Loh Boon Wah was promoted to group financial controller and company secretary of the Singapore-based hydraulic lifting and haulage services provider on August 31. He replaces Tay Seo Long who resigned as CFO and company secretary on the previous day. Loh holds a bachelors degree in accounting from Nanyang Technology University and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore.

Ramba Energy: The Singapore-based integrated logistics operations services provider promoted senior financial controller Lee Seck Hwee to CFO on September 1. He will be responsible for overseeing corporate finance and treasury operations and will be actively involved in the financial and related administrative functions concerning the company’s acquisitions and business opportunities.

United Company Rusal: The Hong Kong-listed aluminium producer will appoint Evgeny Kornilov CFO in October, although no exact date has been confirmed. Kornilov will replace current CFO Tatiana Soina, who will resign from the position in October, but will remain as an executive director of the company. Kornilov is currently the CFO of X5 Retail Group. He holds a bachelors degree in economics, international trade and foreign languages from the Moscow Foreign Affairs University.

Wing Hing International: Choi Wing Koon was appointed financial controller and company secretary of the Hong Kong-based mining operations company on September 1. Choi has more than 10 years of experience in company secretarial, accounting and corporate finance positions and is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
