Treasury appointments, March 30

A roundup of the latest CFO and treasurer moves from around the region.

Stephen Che Yue Lau has resigned as financial controller and company secretary at China Grand Forest Green Resources and assistant financial controller Yeung Fun Lai has assumed his responsibilities as company secretary on March 23. Lai joined the company as assistant financial controller this February and previously worked for five years at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She holds a bachelors degree from the City University of Hong Kong and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Global information services company Experian appointed Russ Mathews regional director of consulting for Asia on March 22. He is based in Hong Kong and leads the marketing analytics consulting team supporting Experian's clients in the region. He reports to Tim Pullan, managing director of Experian marketing analytics.

Stephen Leel was appointed vice-president of global delivery at FRSGlobal on March 22. Leel will lead the company's global service operations, with a focus on ensuring the quality and consistency of product delivery to its customers worldwide, while overseeing the development of regional professional services teams. He is based in FRSGlobal's London office and reports to chief executive Steve Husk.

Philippine telecommunications company Globe Telecom will appoint Albert M. de Larrazabal as chief financial officer and treasurer on April 13, following the retirement of Delfin C Gonzalez Jr on the same date. He will also head the company's finance and administration group. De Larrazabal joined Globe as head of the treasury division in 2006 and has more than 20 years of financial experience from previous positions at J.P. Morgan and the San Miguel Corporation.

Vietnam-based mining company Hamico Group Mineral promoted Thi Thu Phuong Dang to deputy chief executive from her post as chief accountant on March 25. Thi Thu Trang Lam replaced Dang as chief accountant of the company and its subsidiaries on the same day. Lam was previously general accountant of Hamico.

CFO and co-founder of ISS Consulting Solutions Christina Ingeburg Orth resigned on March 22, a replacement has yet to be named. As CFO she was responsible for the strategic and operational decisions relating to the business and operations of ISS Group in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. The company is in the process of finding appropriate replacements for Orth and two other executive directors who resigned on the same day.

Seng Chun Tan will resign from his post as CFO and joint company secretary of Memtech International, a solutions provider for mobile phones, information technology equipment and automotive industries, on April 2. The company is currently in the process of finding a suitable replacement and, in the interim, Liu Qing Zhang, senior finance manager, will undertake Tan's duties.

Mingjie Wei was appointed CFO of China-based plastic and biochemical manufacturer Ningxia Dayuan Chemical on March 23. The appointment followed the resignation of former CFO Xi Chen a day earlier. Wei is a certified public accountant.

Pine Agritech appointed Mei Yee Wu financial controller and company secretary on March 24. Her executive duties include financial management, accounting and company secretarial matters. Wu replaced Oi Chong Chan, former financial controller and company secretary of the soy-bean products producer, who resigned earlier this month.
