SoftBank invests $2bn into Intel

The aim of the stock purchase is to help boost advanced technology and semiconductor innovation in the US; Intel has been under the spotlight of the US administration in recent weeks.

Japan's SoftBank Group and Intel Corporation have signed a definitive securities purchase agreement, under which SoftBank will make a $2 billion investment in Intel common stock.
