SG appoints Pascal Lambert as Singapore chief country officer

Lambert, who will also become head of corporate and investment banking for Southeast Asia at Societe Generale, replaces Maurice Nhan who has left the bank.

Societe Generale has appointed Pascal Lambert as its chief country officer for Singapore and head of corporate and investment banking for Southeast Asia. The appointment took effect on October 9.

Lambert replaces Maurice Nhan who has left the bank to pursue other interests. In his new roles, Lambert will lead the bank's business strategy in Singapore and Southeast Asia. He reports to Hikaru Ogata, CEO of corporate and investment banking for the Asia-Pacific region.

Lambert joined Societe Generale in Hong Kong in June 2009 as its chief operating officer for global markets in Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining the French bank he spent most of his career at Bear Stearns as a senior managing director.

Olivier Hartemann

Before his promotion, Lambert was regional chief operating officer for corporate and investment banking in Asia-Pacific. This job was taken over by Olivier Hartemann on September 1. Hartemann reports to Christophe Leblanc, chief operating officer for corporate and investment banking, and to Ogata.

Hartemann has been global markets chief operating officer for Asia-Pacific since 2010. He joined Societe Generale in 2001, working as a senior consultant in SG Consulting. He relocated to Hong Kong in 2004 as chief operating officer for sales in Asia, before returning to Paris in mid-2008 to take part in the creation of the global equity flow activity.
