RBS adds to rates and FX teams

The British bank makes four senior appointments in foreign exchange and exotic rates products in Hong Kong and Singapore.
RBS has hired Rubin Rajendram from Credit Suisse to head its euro and US dollar rates exotics trading team in Asia, based in Hong Kong. It has also promoted Richard Summerbell to head of currency structuring for Asia ex-Japan and added two other senior hires to its foreign exchange team.

At Credit Suisse, Rajendram was a trader responsible for pricing, hedging and structuring all developed-markets interest rate exotic derivatives transactions in Asia-Pacific. He worked at BNP Paribas in London before that. In his new position he will be charged with growing RBSÆs exotic rates business.

Rajendram and Summerbell will both report to Emlyn Chow, RBSÆs regional head of currency and rates options and exotics for Asia-Pacific. ôRubin and Richard will align and strengthen our product capability in providing tailor-made solutions to our clients,ö says Chow.

RBS has also hired Scott Cousins as a senior foreign exchange dealer from Merrill Lynch, where he was head of G10 spot trading, and Ian Emmett as a proprietary trader from London Diversified Fund Management, where he managed the Asian micro portfolio.

Both are based in Singapore and will report to Chris de la Hoyde, Asia-Pacific head of foreign exchange trading.
