PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has appointed Jonathan Pyne to be a director of the firm's corporate finance group based in Hong Kong. He will report to Christopher Chan, the partner in charge of PwC's Hong Kong corporate finance practice.
Pyne has a long career in Asian corporate finance. He spent six years as a director of Standard Chartered's Asian equity capital markets group before becoming executive vice president of Krungthai Thanakit's investment banking division based in Bangkok.
At PwC he will concentrate on advising Hong Kong companies about capital markets deals, pre-IPO capital investments, M&A work and regulatory work for listed companies. "The corporate finance business in Hong Kong will remain challenging in the current environment," says Pyne. "But PwC Corporate Finance has a solid platform to launch capital markets advisory services that will provide our clients with a full range of corporate finance advisory services and enable synergies to develop other services within the firm."
