FinanceAsia invites you to meet our new corporate treasury team.

As Western economies struggle with mounting scrutiny over sovereign debt levels, Asia’s compelling growth story is having a profound impact on treasury operations around the region. The need among Asian corporates for flexible and dynamic cash management strategies has never been more pronounced, while banks are under pressure to offer ever more sophisticated and comprehensive services.

As they chase down market share and revenue, many companies are expecting their treasuries to continue their evolution from cash inflow and outflow monitoring departments into business advisory centres.

Interpreting these and other developments for the Corporate Treasury News site is FinanceAsia’s new corporate treasury editor Jonathan Barlow and reporter Jonathan Wong. Jonathan B brings to the publication many years of journalism experience, having previously covered treasury and the debt markets among other sectors. With his strong China-related background and many years based in Hong Kong and Beijing, he is well placed to decipher some of the trends in Asian treasury operations.

Jonathan joins another Jonathan, this time in the form of Jonathan Wong, who started at FinanceAsia in February and is no doubt already well known to some of you. With strong skills in Chinese languages, Jonathan W brings to the team in-country expertise and a sound understanding of the mainland economy.
