Koh will be responsible for leading the countryÆs transaction banking strategy and maximising GTBÆs product penetration in existing and new markets.
He succeeds Julia Wu who continues to perform multiple roles for the bank. She is the deputy branch manager of Deutsche Bank, Shanghai, and will now focus on efforts with regulatory agencies and support the formulation of Deutsche's country branch strategy as well as cross selling all global banking products.
Based in Shanghai, Koh reports locally to Betty Deng, chief country officer for China, and regionally to Thomas DuCharme, head of Deutsche Bank GTB Asia-Pacific ex-Japan.
Betty Deng says: ôI am pleased to welcome David to our team. He brings a solid track record of building new and expanding corporate banking relationships. With DavidÆs proven abilities in managing strategic plans on a country level, his new appointment reinforces Deutsche BankÆs commitment in China and strengthens the franchiseÆs standing in the country.ö
Koh has over 14 years of global banking experience spanning the US, Asia, the Middle East and Europe, specialising in corporate banking and international trade. Prior to joining Deutsche, Koh was senior corporate banking manager with HSBC in the UK where he managed the portfolio of corporate clients and was instrumental in driving the business pipeline for cash management and international trade.
Thomas DuCharme adds: ôChina is one of the key strategic markets for Deutsche Bank in the Asia-Pacific region and we are optimistic about its growth prospects and potential. DavidÆs strong leadership skills and intimate knowledge of corporate and transaction banking will add further depth to GTBÆs established platform in this region.ö
