Deutsche appoints Asia debt head for institutional clients

The German bank has hired Kevin Burke to be its new head of institutional client group, debt for Asia.

Deutsche Bank has hired Kevin Burke as its new head of institutional client group for Asia ex-Japan, Australia and New Zealand, within debt capital markets, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

Based in Singapore, he will report to both Bhupinder Singh, co-head of corporate banking & securities for Asia-Pacific, and Rich Herman, global head of the institutional client group.

Burke will also join the newly formed Corporate Banking & Securities (CB&S) executive committee in the region, which was one of Michael Ormaechea's and Singh's first major joint initiatives after assuming their roles as co-heads of corporate banking and securities for Asia-Pacific in August 2013.

Burke was most recently head of investor solutions, global, at Barclays in London, and has spent more than ten years based in Singapore across two different periods.

He is expected to start at Deutsche Bank in January 2014.
