It has been another slow week in the equity capital markets with $87 million raised from 10 issues. Year-to-date volume now stands at $57.8 billion from 687 issues û a decline of 64% in volume terms compared to the same period 2007 when $162.3 billion worth of deals were priced.
November issuance of $1.2 billion is the lowest November result since 2000, when $1.0 billion was raised from 43 issues. Also, the flow of issuance hasn't exceeded 100 deals in any one month since December 2007.
The top 10 league table rankings remain static with Citi, UBS and Credit Suisse taking out the top three places with $5.1 billion, $3.8 billion and $3.8 billion respectively.
Debt Capital Markets
It was another uneventful week in the debt capital markets with zero trades. Year-to-date volume stands at $16.7 billion from 57 trades û less than half of the $37.7 billion raised from 94 deals in the same period last year.
HSBC, Deutsche Bank and Citi top the league table ranking with $2.6 billion, $2.2 billion and $1.6 billion respectively.
