Equity Capital Market
A total of $4.5 billion has been raised in the Asian equity capital markets this week through 34 deals, compared to the $4.1 billion raised in the same period last week.
IPOs led the bulk of the issuance this week with $4 billion raised through 25 deals, up from $1.1 billion raised in the same period last week and the highest weekly issuance since the week of 15th December ($7.6 billion through 18 deals). IPO volume has reached $11.1 billion in 2015 YTD, just slightly above the $11 billion raised in the comparable period last year.
The largest deal of the week is Orient Securities Co’s $1.6 billion IPO through sole bookrunner China Everbright Group. The deal is also the second largest IPO in the region so far this year.
UBS leads the league table ranking this week with $4.1 billion. Goldman Sachs and CITIC Securities follow with $3.4 billion and $2.6 billion, respectively.

Debt Capital Market
Five issuers have tapped the Asia ex Japan G3 debt capital markets for $6.8 billion, more than triple the $2.2 billion raised last week and the biggest weekly volume since the week of 12th January ($8.4 billion via 10 deals).
The largest deal of the week is Petronas Nasional Bhd’s $5 billion multi-tranche trade through a consortium of nine bookrunners. The deal is also the largest G3 bond in the region so far this year and also the biggest G3 bond from a Malaysian issuer on record.
Southeast Asian issuers have already raised $18.4 billion in the G3 bond markets so far this year, up 80% year-on-year and the highest YTD level on record.
HSBC leads the league table ranking with $5.3 billion in 2015 YTD while Citi and Deutsche Bank follow with $4.9 billion and $4 billion, respectively.
