Asia ex-Japan healthcare ECM volume at year-to-date record high in 2015.

A total of 18 ECM transactions have been completed this week raising altogether $739 million, down on the $3.7 billion raised in the same period last week and bringing the region’s total issuance to $180.6 billion in 2015 YTD, up 59% year-on-year and the highest YTD level on record.

Zhuhai Hokai Medical Instruments' $164 million follow-on offering through sole bookrunner Bank of China is the largest deal this week. Total Healthcare ECM volume has reached $14.8 billion in the region, more than triple the $4.6 billion priced in the same 2014 period and the highest YTD level on record.

CITIC Securities leads the league table ranking with $13.33 billion in 2015 YTD, with UBS trailing closely behind with $13.30 billion and Goldman Sachs rounding off the top three with $12.6 billion.

Debt Capital Markets

Three issuers have tapped the G3 debt capital markets this week for a total of $1.8 billion, up on the $8.0 billion raised through nine deals last week.

The largest deal of the week is DBS Bank’s $1 billion transaction through bookrunners JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank, DBS, Barclays, SG Corporate & Investment Banking and Citi.

FIG issuers have tapped the Asia (ex Japan) G3 bond markets for a total of $36.9 billion in 2015 YTD, up from the $26.8 billion in 2014 YTD and the highest YTD level on record. Issuance from Chinese borrowers counts for 74% of the region’s total with a record $27.4 billion in 2015 YTD.

HSBC continues to top the league table ranking with $15.1 billion in 2015 YTD while Citi and JPMorgan follow with $12.8 billion and $9.5 billion, respectively.
