Smart Insight International completed a $1.0 billion convertible via JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and HSBC, whilst HSBC leads the debt capital market race with $25.1 billion year-to-date.

Asia (ex Japan) ECM volume stands at $2.2 billion via 17 deals so far this week compared to the $2.1 billion via 27 deals completed in the previous week.

Chinese issuer Smart Insight International completed a $1.0 billion convertible via JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, and HSBC in what is the largest Asia (ex Japan) ECM transaction this week.

Asia (ex Japan) Convertible volume stands at $28.8 billion via 147 deals in 2018 YTD, up 11% from the $26.0 billion raised in the same period last year and marks the highest YTD volume since 2010. Real estate-related deals account for most of the total issuance volume (24%) with $6.7 billion raised this YTD. 

Goldman Sachs leads Asia (ex Japan) ECM market with $15.9 billion, followed by Citi with $12.6 billion and Morgan Stanley with $11.7 billion.

Debt Capital Markets

Asia (ex Japan) international DCM volume stands at $6.1 billion via 12 deals so far this week compared to $7.9 billion via 17 deals in the previous week.       

Singaporean issuer DBS issued a covered bond with $1.25 billion proceeds via Academy Securities, Barclays, DBS, HSBC< ING Bank, TD Securities, and UBS in what is the largest Asia (ex Japan) international DCM transaction this week.

In Asia (ex Japan) International DCM, Oil & Gas volume reached $9.6 billion via 13 deals, down from 34% from the $14.5 billion raised in the same period last year, and marks the lowest YTD volume since 2011 YTD.

HSBC leads the Asia(ex Japan) international DCM league with $25.1 billion. This is followed by Citi with $17.5 billion and Standard Chartered Bank with $15.0 billion.
