Largest Investment Grade DCM Volume on Record.

Asia (ex Japan) issuers have raised a total of $2.6bn through 25 deals this week, down 22% from the $3.4bn raised last week via 25 deals.

The largest deal of the week was a follow-on by China Resources Cement Holdings Ltd for $533m with China International Capital Corp Ltd and Goldman Sachs as bookrunners.

Asia (ex Japan) ECM transaction in the Construction/Building sector this YTD stands at $4.2bn via 63 deals, down from the $7.4bn raised in 2017 YTD via 65 deals. Average deal size decreased significantly to $67m this YTD, from the $114m in 2017 YTD.

Goldman Sachs leads the ECM league table with $11.3bn in 2018 YTD, followed by Citi with $9.6bn and Morgan Stanley is third with $7.5bn.

Asia (ex Japan) international DCM saw a slump of 57% from $5.5bn last week to $2.3bn this week via 8 deals. This week showed the second lowest activities this year to date.

The largest deal of the week goes to Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Ltd priced a $731m bond with China Construction Bank, Credit Agricole CIB, HSBC, ICBC, Standard Chartered Bank, Agricultural Bank of China Ltd, Bank of Communications Co Ltd, Citi, and UBS as bookrunners.

Corporate investment grade volume continues to show increasing trend. It reached $61.8bn via 128 deals this YTD compared to $50.5bn via 118 deals in 2017 YTD. It is also the highest YTD investment grade bond volume on record.

HSBC leads the International DCM league table in 2018 YTD with $14.6bn. This is followed by Citi with $10.3bn, and Standard Chartered Bank with $8.3bn.
