Calyon hires Taiwan capital markets head

Eric Chien leaves Taishin to head the French bank's capital markets operations in Taipei.
Calyon has appointed Eric Chien to head its capital markets team in Taiwan. Chien will be based in Taipei and will report to Philippe Pellegrin, CalyonÆs country head in Taiwan, and to Jacques Beyssade, the bankÆs head of capital markets for Asia ex-Japan.

Chien joined Calyon in 2002 from Taishin International Bank where he was head of treasury and financial markets, and before that worked for China Securities and UBS.

ôWe are confident that under his leadership our trading floor in Taipei will reach the next level,ö says Beyssade, in a statement released by the bank.

CalyonÆs capital markets business in Taiwan covers treasury and money markets, foreign exchange, interest rate derivatives and structured credit and securitisation.
