Bank of America has announced a major upgrade of its Asian debt capital markets team, announcing three senior appointments in Hong Kong and Singapore.
James Wall has been promoted to head of financial institutions DCM Asia and takes on the role after joining the bank in June as a principal. Wall shifted to BoA from Citigroup Australia, where he was a director in global corporate and investment banking with a focus on fixed income capital markets. He also brings experience from Westpac, Credit Lyonnais and Bain and Company to his new position.
Fellow former principal Swaroop Patel has also been promoted to head of corporate DCM Asia. Both will continue to be based in Hong Kong and in their new roles will oversee the BoA's DCM business in North Asia and Australia.
In Singapore, Florian Schmidt, currently principal in Asia debt capital markets focusing on origination, has been appointed head of emerging markets DCM. In this position Schmidt will oversee business for both corporate and financial institution clients in Southeast Asia and South Asia.
All three appointments will report to John Liles, head of debt markets origination for Asia Pacific.
