Hot institutional demand for Sampoerna family IPO

The palm oil producer is set to raise $122 million from Indonesia's first internationally marketed IPO this year.

Indonesian palm oil producer Sampoerna Agro is set to raise Rp1.08 trillion $122 million from its initial public offering after pricing the institutional portion of the deal near the top of the indicated range.

The deal attracted a lot of interest on the basis that this is the first business owned by the Sampoerna family to be listed since it sold its entire stake in clove cigarette manufacturer PT HM Sampoerna to Philip Morris two years ago. It is also...
